Join us in celebrating American Heart Month this February by helping us knit red hats for every baby born in February 2017 at local hospitals! Little Hats, Big Hearts!
Working with the American Heart Association, this project established in Chicago in 2014, now in more than 40 states, means to raise awareness, provide resources and inspire moms to take their family’s heart health to heart while also raising awareness about Congenital Heart Defects.
Here at Kid Ewe Knot, we are offering Little Hats classes to those new to or unsure about knitting hats, free of charge when making a hat for this cause. Sign up HERE.
Hats are requested in either cotton or acrylic and RED only. We have Comfort and Tatamy in a couple shades of RED. Perfect for this project.
Here are a few of my favorite baby hats:
Baby Bear Hat. Oh, this is so cute and my favorite. I make this for my hubby’s co-worker’s little ones. Free Pattern.
Greenleaf Baby Hat. You know I have a weakness for Leaf Motif. We have a sample of this one in shop in Comfort. So soft and lovely! $1 pattern.
Barley Hat. We really like Tin Can Knits patterns. This hat is a classic and a free pattern.
Mock Cable Baby Hat. This one has a little more going on, but you don’t need a cable needle. Flat or circular options, too. Free pattern.
Seamless Crochet Baby Hat. Free pattern.
Baby Bear Beanie. Crochet version bear hat. CUTE!! $4.95 pattern.
Or, use your favorite newborn/preemie hat pattern. No buttons or bows or other adornments, please.
Hats are being collected now until December 31, 2016. You can drop your hats off in shop! We have a basket that we would love to fill to overflowing.
