Yes, it’s true. I counted several times.
12 weeks until Christmas. 11 weeks until Chanukah begins. And all the other festivities of the season are crowding in, too!
No matter what or how you celebrate the season, one thing seems to be true. Surrounding ourselves with people we love and showing our love with to them with gifts and sweets makes us pretty happy.
Our Holiday Favorites
Here’s a simple treat that is Olivia’s favorite. She calls it Cocoa-Marzipan.
Marzipan- make your own or purchase
Roll Marzipan into 1/2 inch balls.
Dust with Cocoa.
Devour. I mean, share.
We used the Marzipan that you can find in the baking aisle (an 8oz box) and Hershey’s Cocoa. This made about 50 balls.
The Stockings were Hung by the Chimney with Care!
It is SOCKTOBER! And to celebrate, all self-patterning sock yarn in the glass cubes is Buy One, Get One FREE! While supplies last. What? Crazy to be sure. But I love to put socks in the stockings. It cracks me up. There isn’t a better excuse to cast-on a new holiday tradition than a fabulous sale.
Did I ever tell you about the year that my second son put his socks on Christmas morning, turned to me and said, “Mrs Claus is a much better knitter than you, Mommy!” That really cracked me up. The fruits of my own deceptions. He was probably 5 or 6 years old.
