Recipe of the Week!
Judymom’s Chex Mix
Box of Rice Chex cereal
Box of Corn Chex cereal
Box of Wheat Chex cereal
Bag of pretzels, your choice on rods or traditional
Jumbo can of cocktail peanuts
Get yourself the biggest pan in your house. If you have a turkey pan, that may be big enough. The grocery store has disposable ones, you could use that too. Set the oven to 250 degrees. Get out a sauce pan and start melting butter. This is the go to ratios, for every 5 cups of cereal, add:
1/2 cup of butter
2 Tbsp of Worcestershire
1-1/2 tsp lawrys season salt
1/4 tsp garlic salt
Add the dry ingredients into the big pan and mix them all around. To the melted butter, add the Worcestershire, season salt and garlic salt. Once combined, drizzle over the mixed cereal, pretzels and peanuts. Stir a little more and pop in the oven. Cook for 1 hour, stirring everything every 15 minutes.
You have completed the check mix challenge! You can feed the family and neighborhood with all the Chex mix or have the best party snack everyone will be talking about. Plus, this is great study food for your folks in college studying and cramming for finals. Everyone will appreciate a festive cello bag, tied with yarn, full of crunchy holiday goodwill.
And this can be a great treat for your Harvest Party get-togethers, too. After your mix has cooled, mix in a bag of candy corn for a sweet contrast to the salty! YUM.
