I don’t need anything. I am willing to wager that you don’t need anything, either. And when I say need, I mean NEED. I don’t need to worry if there is food to eat, hot water for a shower, clean clothes, a school for my kids to be educated. We are extremely fortunate. And that is great!
However, it isn’t true for too many in our country, especially those affected by recent natural disasters. I cannot do a darn thing about the weather. But I can lend a helping hand – usually cash for far flung places. So that is what is on my mind lately, and I am making a couple opportunities available for you to help me do that.
1: Sample Sale– Carly is in charge of our Facebook and Instagram Sample Sale, check them out to see what we have available and to grab one, or two or 5! You can buy them thru Paypal or in the shop. All of the proceeds go to these two funds,
North Bay Fire Relief– this is important to me because I used to live in Santa Rosa and our first house, the home that both of my boys came home from the hospital to, was destroyed in the fires. It feels so strange to know that that entire neighborhood is gone! You can read a personal account Here written in part by a young lady that was in Henry’s (my eldest) playgroup when he was a baby/toddler.
Hurricane Maria Community Recovery Fund – “The devastating effects of Hurricane Maria on Puerto Rico are still unfolding, but one thing is certain—the island’s most vulnerable communities have been pummeled the hardest and face the longest road to recovery.
Vulnerable communities often face the worst destruction and slowest recovery and have fewer resources to safeguard homes, vehicles, and other property. When the winds die down and the floods recede, these communities are often forgotten. ”
2: Coats for SHIM– from Friday October 27 through Sunday November 5 we are collecting winter coats, boots, and accessories for SHIM. Bring in a donation and get DOUBLE FRINGE on your purchase that day.
Thank you for supporting our efforts to support each other.
